Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible parents! Today, as we celebrate the love, strength, and endless
sacrifices you make for your children, let's also remember the rich history behind this special day. Mother's
Day has ancient roots, but its modern version is credited to Anna Jarvis, an American woman who held a
memorial for her mother in 1908. Through her tireless efforts, President Woodrow Wilson officially declared
the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day in 1914, making it a national holiday in the United States. Yet,
the celebration of mothers and motherhood transcends borders, deeply ingrained in various cultures
throughout history, often intertwined with religious or cultural traditions. So, here's to you, mothers, for
shaping the future generation with your unwavering support, guidance, and boundless love. Thank you for
everything you do. Wishing you a day filled with joy, relaxation, and the appreciation you truly deserve.

As a gentle reminder, the fourth-quarter progress reports will be available via the parent portal on Tuesday,
May 14th.Your continued involvement in your children's education is crucial, and reviewing their progress
reports is a great way to stay informed and supportive as we near the finish line. Your encouragement can
make all the difference in helping them finish the year on a positive note.

Additionally, the final exams are scheduled to start on June 13th. We'll be emailing the exam schedule to
families on Wednesday, May 15th.

SAT registration is now open for the 2024-25 testing year. Many colleges consider SAT scores as part of
their holistic admission and placement decisions, making it a valuable measure of your academic abilities.
Most juniors take their first SAT in the spring, with many opting to retake it in the fall of their senior year to
improve their scores. Doing so can help keep your college options open, showcase your unique strengths,
and even qualify you for scholarships.

The attached link provides a calendar listing the upcoming SAT dates and a direct link to the College
Board for exam registration.

Message from Mrs. Jane Devereux, School Nurse:
With the arrival of lovely spring flowers comes allergy season and increased outdoor activities! Physical
exertion and environmental allergens are common triggers for asthma. To ensure all our students remain
healthy and active, please ensure that any medications or treatments for allergies or asthma are up-to-date
and being taken appropriately.

If your child has asthma, please inform our nurse, Mrs. Jane Devereux, so we can plan for emergencies
accordingly. If your child has severe asthma (has ever been hospitalized or intubated) or is taking
prescription medication for it, it's important that we're aware so we can provide the best possible care.
Students may self-carry their medication and/or have backup emergency medication in the nurse's office.
For either option, please submit the Authorization to Give Medications form, completed by both a parent
and healthcare provider. The form is available on the school website under 'Nurse/Health Information' or
attached to this message. For any questions or concerns, please contact the nurse at 914-337-5376 x1236
or devereuxj@tuckahoeschools.org.

and other thrill-seeking activities at the park. They will utilize basic measuring tools provided by built-in
software on their phones, as well as an education packet provided by Six Flags. Although Great Adventure
